I dropped by to William Brodie ward this morning and spent about half an hour with Jim during which time a stream of carers, including doctors assessing him and a nurse checking his blood pressure, came into his room. I was cheered by the kindness as well as professionalism of all those I met. Jim asked after various people and I was disappointed that I was not able to give him any exciting news but I do think it helped him to feel in touch.
