The Passion

Passion        1) The suffering of Jesus on the cross.

                      2)
The sufferings of a martyr, martyrdom.

3) Any form of suffering or affliction.

4) A strong barely controllable emotion.

Compassion 1) Participation in another’s suffering; fellow feeling, sympathy.

2) Pity inclining one to show mercy or give aid.

Mayda Narvey, cello and David Harries, spoken word will give a recital for reflective worship around the theme of The Passion on Sunday 6th April at 6pm at St Barnabas Church, 146 Lavenham Rd, Southfields, London SW18 5EP (junction with Merton Road).
The half hour performance will explore the nature of redemption and rebirth through the experience of suffering and compassion. It includes material drawn from Bach, T.S. Eliot, the Gospel of Matthew as well as original material and will conclude with a brief period for silent reflection followed by an opportunity to drink and talk with others. Attendance is without charge, but there will be a retiring collection.
